With ESXi, I'm trying to pass the HBA to the VM with DirectPath and boot the VM from the HBA. I can install the VM and I can even boot the hardware from the disks attached to the HBA (I did on accident once) but I can't get the VM to boot using the disks attached to the HBA.

Is it possible to do? I saw a blog about someone booting a VM from a DirectPath PCI nvme so I would assume this should work?

    Any ideas?
