I'm not in the market for PMEM 100 sticks of any capacity so I'm not sure. But it does sound like I missed out on a lot of deals and interest for that previous gen a year or two back. How much would you be willing to buy 100 series at 128GB and 256GB?
Seems expensive to me still... But I am also very cheap.I'm not in the market for PMEM 100 sticks of any capacity so I'm not sure. But it does sound like I missed out on a lot of deals and interest for that previous gen a year or two back.
Would I have gone for PMEM 100 512GB in an appropriate build at that time? Maybe!
Optane DCPMM is something between flash and RAM. Optane is non volatile (like flash). It's much faster than normal flash, slower than normal RAM. It has higher capacity than normal RAM (although this doesn't necessarily apply anymore with DDR5 and stacked DIMMs).I'm sorry, but : What is it ?
No. Sadly not.is it usable with an epyc cpu?
How much power consumption would you say is average for a 128GB DDR4-3200 ECC RDIMM? How about a 128GB LRDIMM?Whoa, am I reading the spec page right? 12-18w power consumption PER STICK of Optane? that's nuts...
Seems expensive to me.
I would argue time is money, too. But that's just meGranted a bunch did not work and they had to keep sending me replacements lol
