You found 2650 v2 for less than $80?+2
Did I need to update the 2650v2s? no.
So 100 of these sold in less than 24 hrs... I actually just offered $115 each for 2 and was declined, but decided to pull the trigger and buy 2 at $120 anyway since the price was too good to pass..... even though i already got ten v2 cpu... wtf is wrong with me... lol
now i guess we will see if we all got taken by a fraudster or actually got a good deal....

got my 2670 v1 when it was around $70 from natex. bought an extra pair for a lenovo d30 after getting the natex dual 2670 128gb s2600 special... a little later the price starts to go up then now full circle back down to $70 again.@wildpig1234 I have been playing musical chairs with 2670v1 and 2650v2 in four systems. Killed a dual board and converted two UP T5610s (2650v2) to DP with 2670v1s. I have a single 2620v1 I'll "upgrade" with the 2650v2s (freeNas with no VMs, so a little overkill). I think I bought into 2670v1s at ~$100.
?US $185.00
guess we will find out soon... at least there's ebay protection... but would still have to wait for 2 wks...That $120 lot is back: Intel Xeon E5-2695v2 2.4GHz 30MB 8GT/s SR1BA LGA2011 [ | eBay
I don't know how to feel about it, it might be a tech error (20% discount on every single item seems fishy) or a scam (hacked account). I'm not buying any of those myself anymore, but if someone else wants to take the risk and order a few - it's the best deal so far.
that's a good sign... maybe that other seller was legit? maybe there is a recent decommission of hundreds of servers with 2695 v2?Another seller (the one asking 150 cant link at the moment sorry) is accepting 120 offers with $11 shipping however the shipping does not cjange with number of cpus..got my 2..
Let's hope it's not. I don't personally see any reason for prices to crash so much though. Maybe some people see that DDR4 is going down in price and that in turn will stimulate 2011 users to move to 2011-3 or something, thus the need to clear 2011 stock.. but v3/v4 CPUs are still not cheap, and they're not that much faster, neither is DDR4 ram really compared to 1600-1866 DDR3. Looking at the V1 generation CPUs' prices (which didn't drop all that much over the last couple of years), I just don't understand why 2695v2 would sell for $120 right now. Doesn't make sense to me, there's nothing on the market at the moment that would justify cutting the price so much. I remember when they first started showing up several weeks ago, they were selling for ~ $200 with BO. I bought a few at $185 each, and that was a decent deal. At $150 a piece they're a very good option compared to anything else (pre-ddr4) on the market. But at $120 a piece? Now that is the best 2011 CPU deal ever, way better than anything else. And unless there are suddenly thousands of them flooding the market, I see no reason to sell them for $120. That's why it doesn't feel like a legit sale.I don't think it is a scam, prices are falling and some just want to get rid of these before a potential crash.

Both sellers are from Ohio, they're literally 20 minutes away from "each other". Might be the same person.that's a good sign... maybe that other seller was legit? maybe there is a recent decommission of hundreds of servers with 2695 v2?
