I bought EVGA SR-3 around $500, honestly with w790 coming around $1000, this board will have hard time to sell. I understand CPUs and DDR4 are cheaper and makes the overall 3647 system affordable, it is also a dead platform with PCI-E 3.0 and DDR4. $800 is still overpriced for its capabilities.

The biggest advantage here as RolloZ170 said being able to overclock ES cpus.

$500 for the SR-3 is an excellent price. I did see one for that price on eBay sometime last year (maybe you bought it haha), but right now it cant be had for less than $700. The Dominus, on the other hand, has been $1300+ until recently.

Sapphire Rapids workstation CPU's are obviously just going to be better, but you will pay for it. With these prices, the 3175x+Mobo can be had for about $1550 (SR-3) or $1650 (Dominus), whereas 28 cores on the Sapphire Rapids platform will cost you over $4000. And that doesn't account for discounted water cooling parts.

In my opinion the 3175x and its motherboards were very special parts, and it is a travesty that Intel didn't continue to support the platform with later LGA 3647 CPU's.
