My entertainment center currently has a TrendNet TEG-S83 8-port gigabit switch and I could use a few more ports. Since peer-to-peer performance is not a big issue, I could daisy chain it with another 8-port switch and forgo the symmetric cross section bandwidth that a larger radix switch would provide, but I'm wondering if anyone has come across a 12 or 16 port desktop style unmanaged switch that I could use instead. No PoE needed.

By desktop style, I mean a switch with power and jacks on one side and LEDs on the other side which is great for cable management in this use case. Metal case would be great but I'm willing to consider plastic to get this form factor.

Searching for "16 port gigabit switch" on Amazon yields a lot of results. This TP-Link is less than $60.

But, I haven't ever found a switch with more than 8 ports that has all connectors (power and network) on the same side of box.

I have that TP-Link in my study!

And I was afraid that I would be looking for a unicorn.

I did find an EOL switch, Netgear GSS116E, which can be put on a "desk" with all its jacks/LEDs pointed to the ceiling. It's also a bit too long because the power supply is inside the case.

Good form factor but EOLed in 2011 :)

The Ebay seller seems to have one new-in-box so that's better than buying a used one that has likely aged out components.

Thanks

Do you have size requirements?
There are a few more devices, but they are a little too big. The 16 and 24 port version have the same case size.
12.68 x 7.30 x 1.73 in.
(32.21 x 18.54 x 4.39 cm)
Pakedge SE-18 / SE-26 (not EOL)
SW16-GB (EOL)
S18e (EOL)

Single row of jacks would be ideal but I might be able to make this work.

Thanks
