Somewhat inspired by the latest IP camera thread, as well as all of these little mini ARM boards I have been buying, I wanted a PoE switch. I have also been wanting to test the Dell X1052P.
Anyway, I saw this earlier today: Dell X1052P 52-port Smart Managed Switch POE 1year Warranty Free Shipping! Listed for $695. I got a best offer accepted at $575 with free shipping. They still have 4x left.
The next cheapest is around $800 on ebay, $795 on Amazon, and $959 on Dell ($1056 with tax and shipping.
I will report back with how this one turns out. 24x PoE+ ports, 24x non-PoE gigabit ports and 4x 10Gb SFP+ ports should be enough for what I want to run. Price wise, only a bit more than the non-PoE version but I would expect this one to be noisier and use more power.
