Hey everyone,
I recently picked up a Dell R330 and noticed that it run way louder after I added in a 10GB solarflare network card. Most of the fans are running at ~3000 RPMs but 2 of them are pegged at ~ 9000 RPMs. I tried using ipmi tool to disable the third-party pcie card cooling response with the command below but that didn't seem to do anything. Is there anything else I can try to fix this? I know I can set the fan speeds statically but I'd prefer not to do that. Alternatively I'm considering purchasing a Dell QLogic 57810 card to replace the solarflare since I don't think that would be considered third party. Does anyone know for sure if that would fix the fan issue?

Thanks for the help!
