The very nice Dell C6220 barebones chassis are starting to get quite reasonable on eBay, even if the CPUs to fill them are still quite pricey.

$1,500 is about normal right now, but I just picked up a non-DCS c6220 barebones for $850 *including* four LSISAS2008 SAS/SATA cards, so even better deals are possible.

where did you get it?

My deal was a one-off eBay auction from some general purpose liquidation vendor. I checked later to see if they had another one, but no such luck. Those four LSISAS208 cards are worth ~$150 each with cables, so my $850 barebones actually cost more like $250.
