Dell HBA355 to H355 Firmware Upgrade

So coming here where people who are smarter than me like to hang out lol.

So the boss made a boo boo when ordering a new server for a client. Was supposed to be a H355 and he ended up picking the HBA355. Physically they look exactly the same, same chipset, same everything as far a I can tell and find, and I am going to assume the difference is just the firmware. I have looked and looked and nothing, but does anyone know if the HBA355 could be flashed to a H355? Preferably Dell branded firmware since this is a brand new T360. Do not want to have to send this back due to this stupid boo boo. That or just tell my boss to buy a H355 and swap it. Have no use for the HBA355 sadly as I have no cables for it (I have a H710, H310, and LSI 9300 that i use for bench stuff but again they don't use the same cabling).

I know the easiest answer is buy one, but if it is possible to flash I can do that.

It probably is possible, but if this is for a client and brand new, I would just buy the proper card. If it has issues under warranty later, it's not going to go smoothly with Dell support.

Yea just getting them new outside of a server is pricy a d we dont want to return the damn thing either. Ugh.

Was doing a lot of research though and seems i would need to capture the sbr and another files from am existing one. Reading up on some people who reverted from a LSI to Dell firmware on the 330 seemed risky. I have plenty of servers with a H355, the biggest issue is none seem to support legacy boot which is needed to run megarec to capture the SBR. Not sure what we will do here. If we just get a H355 i have no use for the HBA355 and would probably just attempt a flash if we got the card, of if my boss says just flash it, if it fails we will get one then etc. ive flashed may H310s done a few LSI9300 from IT to IR and visa versa, a 710 but not a 330 series.
