i ended up picking a Dell C6100 with 4 nodes to replace 2 x r610 and 2 x r710 (esxi Boxes). thought i was safe as i had seen the dell gxx41 motherboard on ebay with the mezzanine slots. well when the C6100 arrived and i took it apart, low and behold NO mezzanine slots and the aspeed ast1100 chipset. BMC is 1.14. Oddly enoughly the service tags on the nodes come up as a C6100 and the BMC is newer than the 1.04 everyone seems to have with the DCS version.
Yes i realize i have no KVM over IP , though i use a avocent KVM over IP which i have the dongles for these nodes so its not a HUGE dealbreaker.
BIOS/BMC hasnt been crossflashed as the version matches the label on top of the chips on the nodes.
is it possible on the newer DCS nodes, they are running standard firmware that can be upgraded the normal way?
