Yep. And afraid a negative for now, decided to hold on to my E5 v2’s for a while longer , just didn’t make sense to replace them with anything new, v2’s had good performance and are paid for.48? wow, so that's 3 dual cpu servers decommissioned? any 32gb lrdimm?
TR people go for ECC RAM, I guess? At least that's what I'm using for my Threadripper system.. I mean, one of the main attractions of the modern AMD platforms is ECC support, so not using ECC memory is kind of a waste. There are affordable ECC UDIMMs with Samsung B-Die chips on the market, so it's pretty much "have the cake and eat it" situation - they're good overclockers and there's error correction working as well.DDR4-3000 .... These appear to be non ECC udimm... so TR people can load up on them....
DDR3 ECC Unbuffered isn't cheap, it's almost the same price as unbuffered ECC DDR4, so that's more like "unfortunately".DDR3 fortunately
Ability to run 3dpc at higher speeds usually.Other than density, is there any other advantage going for LRDIMM at a premium? I picked up 6 sticks of 16gb pc3-14900r for $35 ea.
If anyone has spare DDR4 laptop Sodimm, they should really consider getting the adaptor.. i have two 8gb ddr4 sodimm from laptop upgrade that was just laying around so now they can be put to use with the adaptor.... but obviously they are non ecc udimm type....I'm seeing 16GB DDR3 PC3-12800R going for about $30~$35. Saw a lot of them go for a little under $30/16GB just yesterday... I was going to place a bid but forgot about it.
I'm also seeing 32GB DDR3 LR-DIMMs going for $80~$100 each.
RAM prices fluctuate so much, and don't always trend in 1 direction. Might be a good time to pick up DDR3. Still not feeling it with DDR4 though... my i7 5960X really needs more than 32GB..... :-(
got any more?DDR3 16GB RDIMM prices are plummeting .... just picked up several sets for $25 per 16GB DIMM. Is this the bottom? Or, will it go lower?
sorry, i bought all of them out, or i would have posted it here like i normally do. i doubt i single-handedly stopped the drop in DDR3 prices though, so there should be more to come.got any more?
