Hi everyone again! I would like to ask you about the fan that is included. Do you think is good enough or maybe is better to replace it to another one? Have you replaced it?
my unit did not come with a fan. but i didnt oder mine from cwwk.
its also possible that mine didnt come with it because its the smalles pentium 8505 version.

I left in the included fan. I can't hear it at all, and everything runs cool enough that I don't think it'll be a big deal if it fails.

Thank you for ansering my questions. Sorry for that, but I'm pretty curious about my future purchases.

By the way, I have more doubts about this model:

- Does it have a wifi/bluetooth card included? Is using the slot that we were talking to include an M.2 Nvme x1 slot or is using and extra slot?
- I have seen in photos that it seems to have a TF slot to insert maybe an SD card. Have you tested it? I would like to know the max size in order to maybe use it as a backup of config or something.

it does not come with wifi.
wifi would need to go inside the mini-pcie slot (where the m.2 adapter goes in as well). so you have a choice between wifi or secondary m.2 ssd.
sd cards work. i have tested 128GB samsung high endurance cards and they work, but i have never booted from it, so i cant tell you if it works as a boot device, but i would assume so.

Thank you for your answers. As an addition, I also asked CWWK.net support team about max TF card size, and they told me the max size was 64G, so now I don't know if buying the 512GB microSD card I was thinking on or not.

this is the output i get in dmesg, when i plug in an empty 128gb sdcard
Code:
[225152.142822] sd 2:0:0:0: [sda] 249737216 512-byte logical blocks: (128 GB/119 GiB)
[225152.145150] sda: detected capacity change from 0 to 249737216
i created ab ext4 filesystem on it and wrote a ton of data to it:
Code:
/dev/sda1 117G 24K 111G 1% /mnt/sdcard

root@pve:~# dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/sdcard/testfile bs=1G count=110
^C81+0 records in
81+0 records out
86973087744 bytes (87 GB, 81 GiB) copied, 3073.52 s, 28.3 MB/s
i cancelled the write at 81GB because at 28MB/sec it takes forever to write the full 110 GB :)

but i would say it detects cards bigger than 64 gb just fine, considering that i wrote 81GB to my card without issue.

I just received my i3 1215u box today from the Topton Ali Store. It's exactly the CWWK model, even the logo in the BIOS is the CWWK logo, and BIOS version is the same as fta box.

I used a pair of DDR4 3200 Crucial Sodim (Ref CT16G4SFRA32A) and a 1TB SN570 NVMe drive and start to play with it. Memtest86 is quite happy with the RAM, and during the test CPU temperature went only up to 58 °C.

I had some hard time installing Proxmox VE, as the screen switch to black screen pretty quiclky during the process. After searching a bit, there are two options, using a USB-C screen connection, or installing from the 7.1-2 iso (need to find a mirror that still have it) and updating to 7.4 after installation (as well as Kernel 6.2). Not a big deal, but that may help people who have the same issue.

what i would be interested in is if the topton/cwwk units support thunderbolt. lspci at least lists a thunderbolt 4 controller and the unit has usb-c.

that i cant tell you. my output is from proxmox 7.4 on kernel 6.2.6 as well.
i have the version with the pentium 8505 though, maybe the i3/i5 units show a different output.
maybe others can confirm?

do you use the unlocked bios or the factory one?
my output is from the unlocked bios with thunderbolt enabled (it is by default i think).

looks like the cpu is thunderbolt capable but the units dont have any external port connected to thunderbolt.
the thunderbolt controller is on usb1 and usb3 on my device, but all external usb ports are on usb2 and usb4, which are different controllers.
i would need to check if there maybe is a header on the board to make this usable.
would be a nice addition.

Are there any Chinese speakers here? There is a new BIOS available for this box that has the power issues fixed, but I haven't been able to figure out how to download it. If someone could grab it for me, I would appreciate it. The BIOS is here (access code: ys0z). I got the link from a CWWK video post.

I had this issue as well and I solved it with some variation nomodeset on the kernel command line during install.

Can you elaborate further on this?
Adding nomodeset during boot prevented the blank screen for me but the graphical installer could not be loaded.
So I ended up using 7.1x installer instead. So how did you launch the installer?

Is there a way to get console output/access with these boxes?

I don't have a monitor/hdmi screen near the box, but I need to do some setup (of the pfsense install).

I'd rather not buy a USB video capture card for my laptop.

if by console you mean serial console then the unit does have a serial console header on the mainboard.
you could buy a matching header-cable and use the serial port that way.
