Anyone got a cheap 8-port LSI HBA with PCIe 3.0 before I drop $90 to an eBay seller I've got a "Make an Offer" for? Rather buy from STH than some random guru on eBay. I'll throw a few more bucks your way for shipping.

Something like the IBM M1215 (LSI 9340-8i), or even cheaper if there is such an LSI HBA - which is what I have an offer from right now.

Should be an LSI because, well, I am mostly familiar with them and their line. 6 Gb/s is fine; but, as I understand it, most of the PCIe 3.0 cards are SAS3/12Gb/s these days - but that's not required for my use case. Just PCIe 3.0. No RAID, it will be only used in IT Mode.

Shipping to 12601.

Thanks!

I had a spare, but literally 15 minutes ago realized my X10DRH-CT motherboard with built-in LSI SAS3108 in JBOD mode only supports 16 physical disks, so I have to use my AOC-S3008L-L8E.

Good news if no one has a spare: $93 before any offers here: Supermicro AOC-S3008L-L8E SAS 8-Port 12Gb/s PCIe HBA w/ Bracket IT-Mode 672042141340 | eBay
Oh nice! Yeah, I was wondering if there was a "rear-port" version like the LSI 9211, as I didn't like the upper-port versions of the M1015 I had before (and got a real LSI 9211 instead).

Thank you!!

Does the 9207-8i at half that price not work for you?
Oh, is the LSI 9207-8i a PCIe 3.0? Ah, I see it is!!

Well hot damn!

I'll do a little research to ensure it can transfer at the full 48 Gb/s without limitation. But yeah, that looks perfect!

Thank you all! Think I'll just go with the AOC-S3008L-L8E per @Almighty 's suggestion.

Would be nice to have upgradability in the future - you know, for the next rebuild in 10 years (the last rebuild was 10 years ago next month !!).

I'll leave this post up in case someone has one before I get it from eBay.
