what is the reason paying 300 for M5 when it costs 100 and no one needs it anyway
Because it will cost you more to take that one at 100 and upgrade it to the same spec?...
And its a C220 that goes for less overall also.

Id not be suprised to see that one expire without bids in the US market.

Yep, it depends on the presence of CBL-NVME-240SFF= cable in OP config. No nvme support without this cable and aftermarket options for $30 from amazon will not work

The general homelab market will blindly search for dell or hp.

Cisco, quanta, gigabyte and huawei especialy get heavily discounted as they both commonly come out of scale deployments and have lower demand.

Especialy in Europe dell tends to get put at a massive premium, simply since people are willing to pay it.
The average homelabber will rather pay 500-700 for a R730 than 300-500 for a G10 or M5.
I mean some of those make sense . Cisco is jet engine tier and as far as I know with no way to fan control.

At the typicaly 10-40% cpu loads ive ran they have not been any louder than other 2U scalable models ive had.

But ive seen mentioned a few times that people have had fans ramping when running the risers full of non-cisco nvme/nics even at low cpu loads.

Ordered one, my first server chassis and first purchase caused by this forum.
Thanks for the, uh, inspiration!
It'll be mostly a compute box for some large-number factoring jobs I run as a hobby, replacing a HP Z620 dual-Xeon v2.

It is good for EU prices but the delivery and the duty cost kill it (more than 500$)
If you are not in scandinavia the shipping to Europe will be too high to be worth doing yeah.

To get deals like this in Europe you will need some patience as they do not come nearly as often.
You can grab CTO scalable hosts below 200€ fairly regular, but specced units priced simular to US is really rare.

I’ve got mine and I can’t get the fans to come down from 100%. Going to do a firmware update on it and clean out any dust and see if that helps. Holy cow it’s loud at full blast!

Yes, confirm that. You can apparently override it with “foreign” drives, but pci may be a different matter.

Power monitoring shows 365W at idle with fans at 100%!
