Hello *,
I have an old RM41416, I have no idea where I purchased it, and records are long gone. It is my NAS, and FreeBSD Ports' build machine at home. I would like to increase the airflow in the chassis, I replaced the 5 x 80mm fans between the mainboard and the front sub-enclosure years ago, with some Noctua fans, and now I would like to use the 2 x 80mm spots on the rear window.
I cannot simply add in any 80mm fan, because there is only 2 threaded holes to pickup the top edge of each fan, the rear window looks like it has provisions for a mounting cage. I could use 30mm screws, however, I have not had any luck figuring out the thread size of those holes, and accessing them from the rear requires removing the entire rear window.
Does anyone know what parts I need? Or does anyone have any ideas/suggestions on mounting 2 x 80mm fans?
Thanks.
