A 9211-8i or it's derivatives? They can be had for like 30$ shipped in the US.

Probably the cheapest way is to do it on your motherboard SATA ports with software raid, assuming you have spare SATA ports, and you're running Linux or Windows (both provide RAID0 software raid).

Otherwise, a 9211-8i flashed to IR is cost effective as mentioned.
