Lately, I've seen several X550-T1 network cards on Amazon from multiple Asian sellers listed for around $60. I've also seen on eBay what looks like Intel OEM cards (also from Asia) that include Intel-labeled driver cds for around $150, but if the $60 would work OK, it seems a no-brainer to buy them. Anyone here ever try these $60 X550 NICS? Failing that, where can one find used Intel X550 OEM cards?

Don't buy these cards, you'll regret it later when inexplicable problems appear. Made in China is imho the copies, Made in Malaysia is original.
Look on ebay for 00MM860 or 00MM850 see Intel X550 10 Gb Ethernet 10GBASE-T Adapters Product Guide > Lenovo Press
Bit on the expensive side, other OEMs could be cheaper. Or go for a 49Y7970, PCIe 2.1 will reach 4 GByte/s aggregate. Enough for one port, not quite enough for two ports running duplex full speed. x550 is PCI 3.0 x4 so almost the same speed, 3,9 GByte/s.
If you aren't tied to 10GBase-T, observe https://forums.servethehome.com/ind...net-dual-port-qsfp-adapter.20525/#post-198015 10/40 Gbps is EOL in datacenters so these get usually thrown out and sold for 50 fiat. But it is difficult to break those ports down into RJ45 (MAM1Q00A-QSA for QSFP to SFP+ and then something like fs.com 87588 for SFP+ to RJ45 10 Gbps).

Thanks BlueFox and Stephan -good information! I've looked on eBay, but wonder if there are other sites that sell used X550-T1 network cards that you might recommend?
Also, it appears that Vantec UGT-PC200GNA is a 1-port X550-based network card available for about $150. Any experience with these?
