Attempted to install CentOS7 on a Samsung 830 but it never found the drive.

Thought maybe it was not being detected.... nope in BIOS.

Put in a OLD SATA II SLC Samsung and CentOS detected it right away, and installed just fine.

Anyone have this issue with the 830 before?

After it's booted does the 830 show up in parted or fdisk? I have many 830's with Linux installs on them at home and work. I'm sure you set the SATA controller up as AHCI in the BIOS, but I thought I'd ask.

Yep, ACHI in BIOS, and I haven't had time to play with it more today yet. I'll check if anything shows up, as well as get the Fusion IO working I hope ;)

It's seen in linux, just can't use it to install onto...

Now I have the Fusion IO cards installed in CentOS 7, however...

fio-status

reports:
Found 2 ioMemory devices in this system
Driver version: Driver not loaded

(Then lists their info).

I've installed the rpm w/drivers and rebooted... anyone have to do anything else?

Completely reset the drive. Delete the partition table (wipe sector 0). Then try again. It will work.
