Getting stuck here:

Code:
copy tftp flash 192.168.1.8 ICX7xxx/SPR08095mufi.bin primary
erase flash secondary
reload
It returns

Code:
Error: copy tftp operation is in progress. Please try again.
and eventually

Code:
ERROR::: Flash access is going on for more than 30 mins... Resetting it
Is the flash going bad? Anything I can do?

*edit* Copying from USB instead of TFTP worked. I don't know why, as TFTP for everything up to that point worked.

Are clients getting 10.0.255.1 as their gateway address? If so, then I would not expect things to work.

Each client would need to get the ve address of the vlan they're attached to as their gateway address (e.g. 10.0.1.5 for vlan 1) for routing to work.
Sorry if I was unclear - each client gets their respective ve address as their gateway, not 10.0.255.1.

Ok, apologies. I see I missed that in a previous posting.

Code:
show running-config
would probably reveal what's going on. I also hope clients(' IP addresses) are ending up in their expected subnet and not some other subnet that doesn't correspond with their vlan.

I think I'm making progress. Pinging VLAN 5 and VLAN 10 is failing because of the ACL. I'd missed that I'm only allowing TCP established there.
The test host I was pinging in VLAN 2 was unreachable because of its own static networking config I'd clearly forgotten I did at some point. Undid that and things are working as I expect now!

Hi everyone, got myself an ICX-7150ZP, following Fohdeesha's guide, flashed the uboot and image, but now I'm stuck at setting up VE:

ICX7150-48ZP Switch(config-vlan-1)#router-interface ve 1
Invalid input -> router-interface ve 1
Type ? for a list
Any idea what I'm missing?
Thanks!

Haha, well, I'm just following orders...

The guide said to set image to ICX7xxx/SPR08090mc.bin which is what I did.

icx7150.png

Do i need to flash 'mufi' instead? it's twice the size.

Thanks

You have SPS firmware on the device, not SPR, so something didn't happen the way you expected it to. You also have subversion 'd' and not 'm'. You will need to attempt to flash the firmware again, and certain that you use SPR08090mc.bin and that there are no errors, and when you reboot you boot into the partition (primary or secondary) where you flashed it.

A 'show flash' command could be useful here, in case you did the flash to the secondary partition.

Oh, this is what I see:

#show flash
Stack unit 1:
NAND Type: Micron NAND 2GiB (x 1)
Compressed Pri Code size = 31457280, Version:08.0.95dT211 (SPS08095d.bin)
Compressed Sec Code size = 31457280, Version:08.0.95dT211 (SPS08095d.bin)

Compressed Sec Boot Code size = 786944, Version:10.1.19T225 (mnz10119)
Code Flash Free Space = 1110659072
I'll try the flashing again, thanks!

Do I have to reboot the switch in order to get into the bootloader? or can i switch from console to boot via commandline?

I get this warning when I try to reboot:

#reload
Warning: Console login authentication is enabled, Please make sure users are configured
Are you sure? (enter 'y' or 'n'):

I did not go in and follow the instructions yet on how to license the switches, etc yet...

i just plugged the xfp adapter into the switch, the xfp LC adapter in, ran fiber (just got cable in), into intel x520...

Getting half the speed of my old ConnectX-2 cards... could it be because of the license?

Is there a way to set the fans to slower speed?
You’d need to replace the fans with quieter models. Dunno how the ZP models react to that though, and I’d probably not do so if you’ll be using HPoE… but maybe someone here has already done this and can report back on working options?

Bummer, my ICX 6610 runs @ ~6500 rpm, the 7150ZP runs @ ~9000 rpm in mode 1 :(
I also tried to turn on fanless mode, but i get an error that it is not supported.

7150_Fan.jpg
Has anyone done a fan-mode with straight up wires?
Any idea what pins are inside the plug? I'm thinking I can extract the pins and replace them, just don't know where I can find blank pins that go inside the connector.
