Hi,
I am new to C7000s. I bought one cheap for a play, and looking for cheap blades to fill it.
There are cheap blades on ebay that advertise
HP BL 460c G8 641016-B21 NO CPU/NO RAM/NO NIC/NO HEAT SINK/NO RAID
How would these work without a NIC? What role does the NIC play in a blade? I thought the chassis might have some centralised network so the NIC is not needed. but really not sure how it works.
So do I buy these without a NIC card? can i get away without it??
also if it says no raid, what would that mean for adding cheap HDDs in these blades? or should i centralise storage as well? prefer not if i can throw cheap hdds in each if thats simpler.
there is no "if you buy a c7000 for fun, this is what you need to know" document anywhere. I am wondering how people know how these things work? are they using them at work as well? how do i educate myself without reading official documents that are relevant to business, not for just a play lab?
