I have an Intel 1200BTL motherboard with Xeon E3-1200v2 processor which sadly started beeping a few hours ago during boot. It beeps shortly six times and then remains silent. I'm not sure though if the beeps come from the BIOS or BMC. I guess it should be the BMC since in this case the beep sequence is supposed to happen only one time whereas the BIOS beep sequence should repeat itself. Also iirc from some earlier failures the BIOS sequence has a higher pitched noise compared to the current sequence.
The manual was not really helpful and I also could not find much for six beep tones on the web. For the AMI BIOS it would mean some A20 gate failure which is not really helpful. But as said, I don't even know if it is the BIOS.
I think a previous motherboard had a similar fate and I put the processor and RAM in the current one. Is it possible that on of those is faulty and somehow killing the mainboard over time?
