Or, hell, simply pfSense+.

Downside to this little box, M.2 only x1. At this point Intel should really design all their chips to have a x4 connection (in other words, put enough PCI lanes in all your products for current day basic functions).

for FW logs, x1 is plenty of speed.

I do agree there needs to be a few more PCIe lanes... but we are talking about a lowend box. if there is a real need for more PCIe lanes, we should look at a beefier processor, unfortunatly with additional cost.

Is 16 gb the largest amount of ram the system can use?

Many of these small systems have in the past done double what Intel ark page says. The ark page says 16 gb max.

Several units on aliexpress show 32gb configurations.

I'm a little late to the party, but thought I'd mention the Beelink EQ 12 Pro w/ N305 cpu no longer appears for sale on Amazon or Aliexpress. Even the product page on the Beelink website appears to have been removed. I wonder if this means something even newer/better is around the corner....
