@Micro thank you very much.
I didn't find any affordable dual rank 2933 memory so I went for 2666.
Now it runs @2933 - 3000MHz depending on OC or not.
So I get over 250GB/s read and over 160 gb/s write speed as well as superb L3 cache speed

difference of single rank and dual rank

frequency displays different values but during benchmark values are equal

Sorry for the late reply, but could someone help me in overclocking my memory? I´m running 2 * Xeon 8167M and 6 Dimm´s of Samsung 2Rx4 16Gb 2400T Registered ECC on the ASUS C621E Sage.

I went to the Bios, disabled POR and changed memory speed to 2666. Upon saving and restarting, memory still boots as 2400. Am I missing any step? Thank you

the pc restarts a few times to get the memory configuration.
I had to increase the dram voltage.
have you put your dimms according to the manual?

everything else regarding memory settings is set to stock

Thank you so much for your answer!

Yes, the dimms are according to the manual, in the right positions. I will try to bump up the voltage, maybe that will do the trick. If it doesn´t work, I´ll replicate the exact settings you have.

Best regards

Hello,

Sorry if I hijack the thread, but I have the same board and CPUs (2x8167M). Have anyone of you tried 64GB RDIMM (e.g. M393A8G40MB2-CVF)? I get "DIMM train error" if i add it, and the stick shows up as "UNKNOWN DRx8 0GB RDIMM". I've updated the BIOS to the latest version (6102) but doesn't show up anyway. The sticks are on teh QVL list ( https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/...VL/WS_C621E_SAGE_Memory_AVL_List_20191107.pdf). The other 4 RDIMMs I have, all 32GB modules, work. They are 2x MTA36ASF4G72PZ-2G9E2 and 2x M393A4K40CB2-CVF).

Any ideas?

@Puppetfreak I think your problem maybe because the 64Gb module is being treated as Load reduced. Not sure maybe someone else can chime in.

My though is because your mixing memory types it’s not going to work, can’t put LRDIMMS with RDimms. Only one type. It could also be that your mixing in the 6 channel and it probably does like that as it’s going to be different size/timing.

Try booting with just the 64Gb.

I know I read the pdf before. Read edited.

MTA36ASF4G72PZ-2G9E2 I don’t see in QVL.

I've tried without MTA36ASF4G72PZ-2G9E2, but still doesn't work. But I haven't yet tried with only the 64GB dimm. I'm getting 3 more sticks of the 64GB version later this week, and will try then.

Recieved the other 64GB sticks of the same model, and none of them work either. So, ruling out faulty stick. Tried booting only with 1 and 2 of these 64GB sticks. It does not work. The computer starts beeping, and it hangs during boot sequence with "System Memory Abnormal", with fault code B1.

I've emailed Asus, in hope they can provide me with some recommendation.

Don't think so. If so, all 4 of them have to be bad - and some are even brand new. So, my guess is incompatible memory / BIOS settings.
