I got some ebay specials including a
New ASrack Rack ROMED8-2T
New 8x32GB Crucial 3200 ECC RDIMM
Used 7302

I notice that some memory is reporting absent all in the same slots, 0, 2, 3 out of [0-7] slots
I thought it was bad sticks at first but I swapped them all around and they report in when not in 0,2,3.

This makes me think it's either a due to me not having a supplemental 4 pin ATX12v2 connected (new PSU already ordered)
Or, a bad motherboard? Or much less likely, bad CPU or bad pin contact related to those channels.

I already have the 24pin atxpwr1 connected with an ATX12v1 8-pin. Is missing the 4-pin the likely culprit?

reseat CPU.
have you a 4+4 splittable CPU conn. ?
if yes you can sort out the not populated 4 pin.

Thanks for the reply. I tried 1 stick in A1 and it wouldn't post. I'll have to wait a couple days to try the new psu that should have the extra 4 pin ATX12.

I'll try reseating the cpu.

disregard, Slide cpu tray out to reseat the cpu and inspected the socket, there is two bent socket pins. A new product should never have this issue, I probably got a return or something.
