I have an Intel 2308wftzsr, my aspeed BMC chip has melted across 3x different replacements.

Is there something I'm doing wrong, or possible where it is colocated? Could poe in a management port fry it?

PoE-in shouldn't do that, because ethernet always runs through a transformer on both ends which would isolate that.

Does it happen instantly? Or over time?

Like Mattventura said, PoE shouldn't do that but just to make sure, can you turn off PoE on that switch port?

Your PoE is 802.3af/at? Not some proprietary implementation?

Just an addition... is there something in the case that might be shorting the motherboard from underneath like a standoff in the wrong position? Try running the motherboard outside the case. Does the BMC still melt?
