How much better would 7900 cpu be vs the Intel e-2386g cpu? I have 3 asrock motherboards that are running Intel e-22xx cpus. I'm wondering if I can down size to two of these boards with 7900 cpu with 128gb ecc ddr5 vs 128gb ecc ddr4. I have them running in 4u Silverstone case and these are direct drop in.

@marcoi I need to ask the team if we tested it. It is just Ryzen 7000 series so it should be easier to support than the workaround you need for the P+E cores on the Intel side these days. i210 is supported, and I *think* the BCM is as well.

On the performance, E3-2386 I would say there is a good chance it will be about 2:1 consolidation. But unlikely to get all the way to 3:1. You will probably net lower power.

The board is pretty much perfect for a home lab server. I wish the chassis had SAS support and a way to use the 4x slot on the mobo. It would be great to put a second NIC or GPU and an HBA in this unit since the built in storage controller would be problematic. Still, there's always concessions. This system is great for the home labber compared to the giant enterprise sockets that are fueling commercial nowadays.
