So I heard about the new Ryzen 5-2400G with integrated Vega graphics and my ears perked up. Apparently someone already has one and posted results on Reddit...

TL;DR: 270H/s with overclock, though at 68w system power draw. H/w is pretty impressive, but H/$ is pretty sorry when factoring in PSU, etc. Meh.

I think the best use case for this processor is for an all in one or HTPC set top box. Which makes it a shame that AMD didn't introduce this with a NUC form factor.

Still quite a lot of power for a NUC to dissipate.

There are rumours that there will be a 35w version coming out which would prob be closer t9 what is needed for a nuc

I think Hades canyon (Intel + Vega nuc) has a 100w tdp, sporting 24 Vega compute units (about double the GPU of the 2400G). $800-1000 price though.

A NUC with Raven Ridge could probably pull off a $500ish price.

@Joel have you seen the size of Hades Canyon? They are getting much larger these days. At some point they are going to approach mITX again.
