Hi all,
I just recently updated my VMware ESXi 5.1 installation to 5.5 using the solution described here:
VMware Front Experience: How to update your standalone host to ESXi 5.5 - beware of missing drivers and do NOT upgrade virtual hardware!
Everything worked well, except now my VMware installation keeps "loosing" my two LSI2008 SAS cards which I have configured for DirectPath I/O, i.e., they no longer show up in the list of configured passthrough devices.
Of course I can edit my configuration, add them again, reboot and everything seems fine, but after the next system reboot or shutdown, they are gone again.
I never had this issue with ESXi 5.1. I haven't made any hardware changes (still using the same Super Micro X8SIL-F board with the two LSI cards).
Any suggestions what I could try (apart from reinstalling from scratch) to solve this issue?
Thank you very much in advance,
teq
