ESISO has 6TB Seagate Exos (ST6000NM0095) SAS drives available for $46. Taking offers.

Also available from Vibrant for $47 listed. Taking offers.

Vibrant accepted my offer of $42 ea for 4 drives.

If I didn't just stock up on 10TB, I'd be all over this.

Esiso always had Best Offer, but only knocks things down $5 tops.

However, I have made pretty ok deals via messages. It's just out of the 5 deals I was trying for, I was only able to work out one... The other 4 never had follow ups/silence.

Solid deal at $42/ea as that's $7/TB. :)

The Obi Wan in me says, 'Now, that's a price I haven't seen in a long, long time...' :D

Got a couple failing 2 TB SATA drives w/ 75k+ hours in my FreeNAS array...these would seem to be a good, cost-effective replacement. Thanks for the heads up! I've put in an offer of $44/ea for two...

Does your freenas array support sas drives? Because these are sas and not sata.

Nice! I bet they'd be willing to discount that a bit too since ebay is essentially 10-20% less revenue for them.
Once you sell a certain volume, you only pay 6% in eBay fees. The 15% we pay is for everyone else. Shipping is also largely discounted at that volume too (and almost no shipping cost if you pay UPS/FedEx to warehouse everything for you).

Put in an offer for 10@43. If I get them I'll build a new ZFS pool of 3 2-drive mirrors plus a hot spare, and the other three will rotating backup drives. This would replace 4TB drives that have already begun failing.

I don't have any that *requires* 4KN, I've just decided I want to move in that direction :)
What drives do you use?! the hdds of the last 10 years use 4k sectors/the advanced format and emulate 512b sectors in firmware

What he's talking about are 4k native drives which do not use emulation (512e) or can be formatted from one standard to another.
