Wow this is one weird RAM module from IBM that looks like tipple height. Not immediately clear but may be for a Power7 system. I bet that server has some amazing RAM capacity. Although Supermicro has their Ultra Servers with 24 DIMMs and 1.5TB RAM Support.

looks like it's DDR3, i'v never seen it in that kind of density before, it certainly could be for power7 ibm doesn't have to play by anyone elses rules there

There are 64gb LRDIMMS made for ddr3, and 128GB LRDIMMS for ddr4.

Oh wow 128GB DDR4 DIMMs. Supermicro does not list 128GB LRDIMM support, they only mention 64GB even on their new 2011 v3 systems.
Here is a 4P beast with 48 DIMM slots and 3TB RAM support.

not sure what rank the ddr4 is... the ddr3 was octo rank... probably not much stuff supporting it outside E7, wouldn't be surprised if it was the same with 128gb ddr4.
