Kingston KVR1333D3E9SK2/4G kit with 2x 2GB ECC 1333MHz CL9 DDR3 UDIMMs for $50.99 at Amazon.com

These things dropped $6 in the past few days. Not a bad deal at all for something that works well with the Intel 3420 chip set and X58/Tylersberg chip sets.

The KVR1333D3E9S/4G stick or KVR1333D3E9SK2/8G kit is priced currently at ~$56-61 per 4GB stick of ECC DDR3 UDIMM. It's on Kingston's QVL. Think it would work on the Intel 3400/3420 boards in a 4x4 GB configuration? Wouldn't mind paying a few extra dollars (10%?) to keep the option of maxing out the board open (at least with UDIMMs).

RDIMMs are still 20%-40% over the pricepoint of UDIMMs in $/GB ratio bah.

I have not tried those yet, but I can see the merit as I think I am done with 2GB UDIMMs at this point (I do have quite a few spares though). One note on the original post is that the price went down to under $48 then Amazon.com sold out so there are still <$50 3rd party sellers on there. These also work in UP X58 based boards like the Supermicro X8ST3-F so for $150 one can have 6x 2GB for 12GB of ECC UDIMMs.
