Hi,

My ConnectX-3 started misbehaving (really strange kernel errors and crashes), which forces me to find another card - but would like one which is based on a intel chipset. Does anyone know of an X4 SFP+ 10GbE nic?

It needs to fit into an A2SDi-4C-HLN4F, hence the 4x.

Thanks.

I can't tell from pictures, but is that x4 slot open ended? Something like an Intel X520-DA1 doesn't need all 8 lanes for a single port, but does to run dual ported (X520-DA2). Whether or not card will play nice is another matter, but usually they do, like when you plug a x16 card into a port that is physically x16 but electrically only x8.

Here's an old thread asking the same: https://forums.servethehome.com/index.php?threads/pcie-2-0-3-0-4x-lane-10gb-sfp-card.9925/

I'm running an x540-t2 in an x4 slot just fine - I'm only using one port and it iperfs at full speed ( both ports work but obviously I'll run out of pcie bandwidth if I try to saturate both ports as the x520/x540 are only pcie v2 )

Thanks, the A2SDi-4C-HLN4F does have en open-ended slot - time to surf ebay to find a cheapish x540.

Thank you.

I meant _both_ the x520-da2 and x540-t2 will work in an x4 slot - they're essential the same cards, just one is base-t and the other is sfp+
Thanks, at the end I got an H!Fiber.com x520-da1 - sadly, anything looking like an Intel card (in Europe) cost more than gold - even used. Nice to have a card which is recognized by the kernel.
