Intel looked me up themselves and denied my claim, unfortunately. Paperweight/just for parts no return. I might toy with it some more, and I looked for disconnected caps but didn't see anything.
Edit: I already had my refund.

item arrived DOA, return it...

I dont recall that being listed as "For parts not working"... was it ?

Yep, return it! IT was DOA.

Only if listed for "PARTS NOT WORKING" and description matches.

Item can't be marked "PARTS NOT WORKING" and then description says "Working pull from server".. you can return that, and ebay guarantee covers that too.

I finally just tested mine tonight and it does not work, seller immediately denied my return saying its past 30 days. So not a good seller if he knows they are bad but then denies returns on a technicality.

It's an SX350 6.4TB, I need to look into why it's only coming up with an x4 link before I can sell it, I likely left that slot set for bifurcation and forgot, but maybe it's damaged.

Unless you have an extremely specific performance requirement the 905p is probably just fine, and you get another 200GB of space.

I still like the p4800x, for no good reason.

I have zero performance requirements-- just a homelabber screwing around. :) Do you know what the QD1 read performance difference is like? Wasn't able to find anything doing a good comparison.

Someone posted fio random read results in the 1.5TB 905p thread, I ran the same thing on my 750GB p4800x, but since it's in use I just created a 100GB LV for the test, not sure if that really makes it directly comparable, but I believe I got 109k IOPS and an average latency of 8.5ish ns.
