Hey everyone, in a bit of a pickle at the moment. So at the office we have a server running Windows Server 2019 with 3 x 12tb hdd in raid 5 and a separate 2tb ssd to work off of. Currently running standard 1gig across the network as windows doesn't even fully utilize the 1gig connection.
I have a question in regards to this cisco storage server. I only know mostly about Dell's servers and iDRAC. There's two server nodes on the cisco system, I'm assuming there's an option in cisco's "iDRAC" or IPMI to make the nodes redundant/failover or to treat it all as one server? I also have...
I am learning to code and getting into data science and have been looking into building a powerful workstation or server like this: Deep Learning Workstations, Servers, Laptops for 2021 | Lambda
The main thing I'd like to do with a setup like this is to be able to not only run simulations but...
I am currently looking for a mass storage solution to solve the storage issue that my label is currently having.
Currently: We have a Mac mini running a WebDav & Apache server with a 2TB internal Samsung EVO SSD as storage and an 8TB external HDD for onsite backup. We are running...
I am new to the forum, and I don't know if this is the right place to post this here.
I am looking to build a storage server for my studio, which I will be using for a few applications.
I would like to know what kind of OS and setup should I use. I don't know much Linux commands...

Are there any <=500mm storage shelves (for 600mm cabinet) with lots of drives? I'm talking about those high density iSCSI shelves where drives are put in several rows to fit like 24 or 48 drives per 2U. Alternatively normal server chassis with plenty of drives would do just fine. I found this...
Hey I was finally able to trace the sensor readings using wireless temperature transmitter interface with raspberry pi
But I am curious to do it by using FreeNAS and FreeBSD services to achieve mention below points
- Send the readings from raspberry pi to FreeNas storage system where readings...

I'm building a custom rack mount storage server (it's my first time) and I choose a Chenbro RM23612 chassis (6GB/s backplane with 3 mini-sas ports) for this. For this build, I need my hard drives to show as one to the OS and I don't need redundancy: on internet I found that JBOD should be...
I have 4 servers containing both SSDs and HDDs and I have created a S2D cluster using SCVMM2016. I have noticed on one of the servers it has created a 'System Reserved partition' with drive letter. It has used small portion of the one of the SSD's to create a system reserved partition. I've...
I'm a big fan of AMD's new processors. My Threadripper workstation is great, and I've been toying around with the idea of building an Epyc server that would run storage (appr. 15 TB needed) and my VMs here (mail server, web server, Plex, a bit of minecraft for the nippers... ;))
I posted this in the wrong area of the forum.
Hope I have better luck here :)
I am in the process of getting a proper 10gbit vaai supported storage solution for my home lab.
I am considering the QNAP TS-831X, as it has 2x sfp+ built-in, and vaai support + vsphere plugin.
Not sure if the...
I currently have a DIY, do-it-all, server built at home that acts as a domain controller, Hyper-V host and storage server (an absolute mess of roles, hence the need to sort out proper replacements now I have some money burning a hole in my pocket).
This machine is housed in a 24 bay...

I need to build a small linux dev/ssh box and storage server. I have 7"x14" requirement for mobo space the board must support 8 sata drives (4 at sata3) and leave a PCIe slot clear for a 40Gbe card. Now storage servers are typically very low CPU power, but I do computational biology research...
