Suggestions for cheap low power cpu + motherboard combo that supports ECC?

Thanks all for the suggestions. Seems like the only thing significantly lower either costs too much C3xxx and C2xxx or don't support ECC. If only atom level processors supported ECC.

    Hitachi Harddisks Thread (5K3000, 7K3000, 7K2000)

Rather than think worse case firmware, perhaps its just a HPA or DCO issue. Use hitachi feature tool that should have a way to remove HPA/DCO. Also could use linux hdparm. What is an HPA? What is a DCO? : Tabernus Support

Suggestions for cheap low power cpu + motherboard combo that supports ECC?

Hi all. I would like suggestions for a cheap low power cpu + motherboard combo that supports ECC unbuffered RAM. Under 40W idle is a must, lower the better. Age/generation doesn't matter but must be Intel. Cost is a factor but second to power usage.

    SLC usb flash drives?

Hi. Anyone knows where can I purchase SLC usb flash drives online? I only need 2GB or less. It is to store long term data. I thought this would be a better idea than using a standard SSD since it will be powered off indefinitely. Suggestions are welcomed. Thanks.

    WD 8TB helium drives

Both are January 2016. Took ~ 120 hours to complete a 4 pass badblocks, but I also did periodic seeks during the bb test. According to WD that size is correct max size so no reserved space. Drive displays a smaller capacity than the indicated size on the drive label | WD Support

    WD 8TB helium drives

I shucked two of these and badblocks stressing now. Smartware however seems to be taking up space I only get 7451.91GB in linux. I rushed it and didn't try to remove while still in enclosure, assuming its even possible to do so. It doesn't show any HPA using hdparm. In hindsight I should have...

    6TB @ $199

I think its WD green, but at this price it was too good to pass up for me. FRYS.com | Western Digital What I find suspicious is all these special "desktop" versions that are being released with little information on website and no usual spec sheets.

I have upgraded two different model drives with firmware I have received from here and now to a 3rd model thanks to the persistence of Crazy. I am sure many of us would have given up on the first or second attempt @ getting assistance from Hitachi. I know I did. So thank you everyone for your...
