Yes it is, but I also want to protect myself against electrical storms/power surges, software/hardware error, fire, theft and flooding by keeping an offline/off-site copy :P

Maybe, but I just suspect that there is just such a trivial solution for this that I have somehow missed. I am going to do a full reinstall tomorrow and see if it behaves as it should do. If not, I guess I'll have to reluctantly switch to freenas or something. Which is a shame, because napp-it...
