Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching)

Hi - would you mind reposting the working settings for your sh run? I would like to see how that works as my router is doing the routing but might be nice to have the brocade do it.

Im not sure but my config has ip dns server-address 10.0.0.2 Maybe pointing the dns to 10.0.0.2 - your brocade or 10.0.0.1 - your firewall - or even 8.8.8.8 for testing?

Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching)

I had a power question - I am thinking about upgrading a ICX6450 to a ICX7150-C12. My POE usage on the 6450: Port Admin Oper ---Power(mWatts)--- PD Type PD Class Pri Fault/ State State Consumed Allocated Error...

This worked out well for me I have one more switch to do. Just a note to others - after you upgrade, then restore your config - DO NOT - wr mem after or you could spend an extra hour reflashing everything multiple times....... Also curious - can these upgrades be done via usb drive using the...

Thank you - I will give that a try. If I upgrade my switch after backing up the running config - does it keep my info? Meaning will my running config from my 7250 firmware 08.0.80eT213 backup be accepted on the newer 7250 firmware - ?

Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching)

Hi, I updated firmware on my router, noticed some connection issues so I logged into my three ICX-7250's, did a wr mem, then reload. Two of the three of them came up fine but the third one somehow did a factory reset. I have the settings written down and was able to reset it up with no real...

Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching)

Again thank you for taking the time to spoon feed me. I think I am slowly getting it. So I need to add routes on the sonicwall for the two Vlans (10 & 20) which are 10gb -or do I need to add routes for every vlan (1gb also)? I think I can specify gateways on each Vlan on the sonicwall -...

Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching)

First - Thank you both so much for the help! Thats good to know - no VE = Layer 2 VE = Possible layer 3 if configured? So I only have two Vlans that are using 10gb - Vlan 10 & Vlan 20. Vlan 10 is a "no internet" wan (with certain firewall exceptions) and it is also restricted to Vlan 10...

Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching)

I have my 'main' brocade (#1) connected via lag to #2 & the Main Brocade (#1) is also connected via lag to #3 - so Brocade #1 is the 'main' - first in line of the brocades - so if the routing is on the (#1) I think that would cover #2 & #3 as they are further downstream. How do I make the...

Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching)

    As a followup - does each Brocade switch on each vlan need a dedicated VE number and IP address for internal routing? Brocade 7250 #1: Vlan 10 VE 10- 192.168.1.250 Vlan 20 VE 20- 192.168.2.250 Vlan 30 VE 30- 192.168.3.250 Brocade 7250 #2: Vlan 10 VE 10- 192.168.1.251 Vlan 20 VE 20-...

If I want to use the Brocade 7250 for routing (or as a router)? Whats the best way to do that? Currently I have: Router - Unifi switch - 1gb fiber to Brocade 7250 10gb fiber to 2nd Brocade 7250 10gb fiber (multiple 10gb devices within). With multiple vlans in place, the router is slowing...

Hi - Thanks so much! The sh mac e 1/1/30 worked & showed the mac: 14a7.8b7d.7f1c which does match up to the mac I have but I am unable to ping it. The IP should be 192.168.168.247 (it was set static), I cant see any IP. I am using ubiquiti for my wireless & the software does see the mac...

Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching)

I have a Dahua POE IP camera on my 7250-48P. It stopped working & I am trying to troubleshoot. When I plug it in, the POE does send power - is there a way to see what IP it has through a ssh session? Not sure if it changed IP's or is working properly or at all. It seems to power up or at...

Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching)

Hi - is it possible to have SSH available only vlan of choice? My 7250 has two IP's Vlan 10 - 192.168.10.10 Vlan 20 - 192.168.20.20 Is it possible to allow SSH access only on vlan 20 but not on vlan 10? Thanks, Rich

I have two management interfaces, VE1, VE5 VE1 IP = 192.168.1.25 (internet access) VE5 IP = 192.168.5.25 (No internet) I have SNMP running & a VM locked down on VE5. I have SSH turned on - is there a way that SSH would only work on VE1, but not on VE5 so that the switch is not accessible...

Thanks - I didnt realize that 'public' was the password vs the name of the community. snmp-server community XxsuperSecretXx ro So for future reference to SNMP novices like me - snmp-server -community = enables the SNMP process XxsuperSecretXx = the password for SNMP ro = read only can a...

Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching)

So I am trying the librenms & I added: snmp-server community public ro onto the switch - I know very little about snmp - is that command 'risky' in the event of someone on my network being able to access the switch based on it being a public community (common) and read only?

Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching)

This might be a silly comment but is this a response to me for seeing the network data on the switch? I started to look into it & before I spend a day messing around I wanted to be sure. I have the 30gb lag & want to make sure I am near capacity (or not). Is the SNMP what I need to see...
