Flashing LSI 9305 24i to IT mode

I'm new to the forum, so if this has been covered, apologies.

I'm considering an LSI 9305 24i. Some questions:

1. Do I flash to IT for ZFS with this card, or is it ok out of the box?
2. If I want to flash it to the IT mode, are there multiple places I need to add images? Is it like 3 9300 8i's or is it a single flash?
3. Has anyone been successful in going to the IT mode?

believe that 9305-24i comes in IT mode?

My 9300-8i, 9305-16e and 9305-24i all flashed to latest IT mode fine.
The 9305's present as a single controller.

Have You looked on the site for this card?
It only shows IT packages available, so that is what it comes with.

I honestly can't tell. I see the IT firmware download, but I don't have experience with the SAS3 cards at all to know if there's an IR firmware as well. Is it true that the card comes in IT? That would be wonderful!

I had some issues with ESXI / PCI passthrough into OmniOS on earlier firmware versions so its worth upgrading to the latest and greatest which was part of the solution. What are you planning on using these in software wise?

I'm running ESXi / OmniOS with Napp-it on an M1015 passthrough with IT firmware. It's been dead stable for years. I've been thinking about going to the M1215 with new drives, thus the questions.

OmniOS needs a driver update before the 9305 will be plug and play - you'll need to compile the drivers and substitute them on your system.

I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but to be clear, the 9305 is in IT mode out of the box, right?
