I just updated my 846 with used X10DRi, 128Gig, dual E5-2667 v4 and new noctua coolers. I am happy with performance that I have for $400.

IPMI is showing sensor RT3 at 72C with a 70C threshold. RT4 and RT5 are reading 49C and 51C. I am guessing that these are temp sensors on the motherboard but have no idea where. Can anyone point me in the right direction, so I can add additional cooling. thanks

New pfsense 2.6 install does not recognize solarflare 6122. If I add sfxge_load="YES" to /boot/loader.conf system will not boot. If I run kldload sfxge manually I can assign the 6122 ports and everything works until a reboot.

its definitely the brocade thats wired weird. I replaced the nidec in a 6450 with a sunon and had to switch the black and yellow leads. Works great now and is completely silent.

Not as cheap as they were, but not bad. Last week I got 3 6450-24's for $350 shipped.

getting an error upgrading 6450. when I enter "ip dhcp-client disable" I get "invalid input -> disable". Tried ip dhcp-client ? and disable is not one of the 5 listed inputs. Any ideas?

You are correct, I was getting the 846 specs mixed up with the hp expander I had in another system, it was SAS 6G and SATA 3G.

I am running a Dell h310 flashed to IT mode. Using LSI2008 p19 firmware since p20 had a lot of problems. OS in unraid, so slackware.
