I had to RMA a broken X11SCH-LN4F and ended up buying another to not incur any downtime. SuperMicro sent me back a brand new board. The latest UEFI (v1.5) is flashed and the RMA team tested the new board. Retail box included.

FWIW I am using a Corsair MP510 in my X11SCH-LN4F. I don't believe it is "certified" and I have not had a single issue with it. Been running since October 2019.

I'm using a X11SCH-LN4F and E-2288G with Fedora 31 and Jellyfin (FOSS version of Plex) and hardware transcoding works fine.
There is a UEFI option for integrated graphics that you set to Enabled.

Sounds like you didn't issue the correct ipmitool settings. FYI - after setting the fan settings you must reset the BMC (IPMI) device for it to kick in.
I've had no issue with my Noctua fan staying quiet at idle and ramping up under CPU load after properly setting the thresholds.
