I cut the shrink plastic off, peeled the spot weld tabs off the dead battery without damaging the wires and connector. I taped the battery tabs onto a standard cell with foil tape and then wrapped the whole battery in a layer of electrical tape. Has worked for about a year so far...
I have some of these and use DietPi and also OpenWRT. Cheap compared to a RPi (if you can find one) when you consider fully boxed with Power Supply. It is covered elsewhere, but I found that Linux boot doesn't like the 3040 serial port. For installs I use the grub edit function to remove all...
This mPCIe -> PCIe adapter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XRRQ6P6 works. There is a 4-jumper block near the mSATA/mPCIe slot that switches the slot mode. I have tested several video cards and the BIOS screen is available if you don't have the touchscreen. OPNSense with an i350 ethernet board...
Low wattage Proxmox nodes. I wanted to update my home "lab" to a Cluster and these are working well. I removed the audio input board and replaced it with perforated scrap that mounts 1 or 2 sata drives. To reduce waste energy I unplug the power from the video interface board after I have them...
The boxes come with Windows 7 Embedded. So far the only way I have been able to access Windows is via the Crestron TS1051 touch screen. The BIOS seems to only talk to the touch screen as well. Maybe there is a jumper setting?

Default Administrator password is "Crestron12345678#"
I used some of the well known windows hacks to change the Administrator Password when it wasn't the default.
If you can get into Safe mode you can stop the Lync startup by renaming the c:\Program Files\Lync folder.
I installed Ubuntu on...
Thanks for this, valuable info. Can you provide access to the firmware?
The Crestron must be a customized version of the CR101, some jumpers match, some are missing and the PCIE connector is reversed (slot on the wrong end) if it is PCIE as labeled. Not sure it is usable. I have managed to...
I have been using DietPi for lightweight linux installs on low power boxes. Debian distro focused on Raspberry Pi, but they have a generic x86-64 version. Menu driven config and software installation. Docker and Portainer among long list of available packages. Lightweight justice for your SBC!
I have several snap-lock adapters I can rewire if necessary, but this seller lists 2 Crestron originals: Genuine Crestron FWA150012A AC Adapter 7515-512-05 12V 12.5A 150W W/P.Cord | eBay
