I am shopping for parts to build a small server to consolidate my stack at home. I have a rack but don't have a case for it (using an old ml350 g8 + microserver for now) so I'm also interested in something like a Silverstone 52in. I want to go with 4U+ since I've had tons of headaches with noise and space in the past.
Ideally, components / specs I am looking for:
CPU: EPYC 7002-7003 ideally, 24+ cores total (considering single and dual socket systems)
Mobo: Supermicro H12DSi or gigabyte mz32-ar0, or similar. PCIe Gen4 would be nice but not a strict requirement.
PSU: enough to run 2 x RTX 3080s.
I already have 4 x 32GB PC4-2400T ECC RDIMMs and storage.
I'm interested in EPYC 7001 at the right price as long as I can get a mobo that supports EPYC 7003 (looks like the MZ32-AR0 does). There's an H11DST listed near me with 2 lower end procs for <$500 but I like the idea of not having to upgrade everything again if I want to upgrade processors.
