What the devil is it with the PCIe slot shields?

All three are PCIe cards. The middle one has a shield that is going the wrong way. Is that for a riser card situation in a rackmount?

Any hope I can get a regular shield? This is a supermicro SAS controller.

Those are UIO cards. Think PCIe with components mounted on the opposite side to enable them to be stacked in tight server chassis.

I have a couple UIO cards like that in a regular case. I removed the brackets and bent all the tabs back the other way to make them fit. If you're careful, they even look fine.

I wonder what Supermicro would charge me for a regular shield. Given how cheap the controller was on Ebay the shipping alone would probably hurt

I groveled through other cards I don't need but nothing fits.

I guess this one is for the "shelf computers" datacenter.
