Hi all, I want set up a multi drive NAS, small as possible. All M2 is fine. I would like 4 or 5 drives, more is better. 2.5gb ethernet, 10gb better. I have a thinkcenter m920. It only has 1 M2 slot, and, a half slot PCIE, but I can't find pcie to m2 adapter that will fit in this machine, and I'm currently using the slot for 10gb. wifi is nice to have. Could go slightly bigger than the sff, but, need it to be able to fit in a backpack.

super extra bonus if it can be powered via USB, eliminating a power brick.

the other option would be a mini itx motherboard that you can bifurcate the x16 slot into x4x4x4x4 and use an adapter to fit 4 m.2 rives in it. Along with 1-2 drives on the motherboard itself, would get you to the 5-6 drive range. I dont know of any other boards that would support that many m.2 slots.
