Edit: Seller has conveniently chosen to not change the title to reflect the fact that no backplane is included. Deal is not so hot anymore sadly.

Need info on the backplane. If its the SAS1 backplane then no go - cost/effort to replace it not worthwhile. If its individual SAS (TC), Mini-SAS (A) then this is a stellar deal. If its the SAS2 backplane then its the lowest price I've ever seen.

Doesnt seem like it includes a backplane, just the barebone chassis. Nothing else.

Oh...bit of a deceptive title on their part then. There is another thread below with just the backplane, but that turns this from a great deal to merely an alright one.

Looks to me like it does include the trays, but pretty much everything else has been stripped out.

The part that bothers me the most is actually not even the sellers fault... estimated shipping for me is another $114 on top of the $100 for the bare chassis.

I've bought 2 SC846's from them this year. Both with SAS2 backplane and PSU's. Both were outstanding deals. Guess they're down to the garbage pile now.

Yes - and that is technically correct, you can buy additional caddies from their store. But 6 lines down from there it says:

"Included 24x SuperMicro Trays, Air Shroud and Fans"

I just checked and back in May I bought one from Certified Servers with SAS2 backplane, X8DTE-F motherboard and 2 1200w PSU's for $265 delivered. That one was a deal.

20 days back, it offered to me this chassis with PSU and SAS2 backplane for 410$, i pended this offer because i had to wait due to money management in my side.

But it's hard to find it even on the web or ebay. so i think we will have to wait before seeing it.
