I bought this used server it's got a 3u 12 bay 3.5 inch front to it connected to this backplane, but I have no idea how to identify what kind it is to look up a manual. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place or there is a good place for me to look on the board to figure it out.

Its an old supermicro SAS2 backplane, unless you identify the case/box it came in with you cannot really find manual - or its so old manuals been lost to time. (and i bet its 2U box, not 3U)

Looking at the firmware through hexeditor it appears to be some sort of modified supermicro firmware thats attaching itself to memory address spaces to modify values - around 60% is the exact same as supermicro's sas2xfw_55.14.18.0.fw firmware .
I'd say it is supermicro just ?stolen? by chinese, and sold as Russian ?OEM?

thanks for the help i'm pretty sure it's PRODUCTS-OEM, ODM and COTS Server, Storage and Chassis Solutions - AIC it's got dual 1000w power supplies with no mobo. But it has the same drive trays. so yes it was a 2u not 3u. so i think it's the • 1 x 12-port 6Gb SAS backplane with 28-PHY expander and 4 SFF-8087 connectors option?
