S3500 Temps

Got another batch of S3500 80GB that I've been meaning to test for what is likely a month now... got to testing today, and drive #2 has 1 bad sector which no big deal... but during testing it got to 41*C which seemed rather 'hot' to me.

What are your S3500 running at?

Looks like the ambient temp is playing a big part today.... mid/upper 70s as long as drives have minimal air (out of chassis) they stay 40C or less which keeps them from going orange, if I bench or secure erase in a row with little air they go 41-43 which makes them "orange" in HD Sentinel.

So, no big deal for anyone following along.

mine stay around 29C, not under heavy use, but not completely idle either.

Wish I could tell you but my ESXi hosts don't seem to be reading smart data properly off those disks. Value is showing as 100.

23C and 32C under load S3500 80GB in a Dell Optiplex 990.

Max I could get the temp on my s3500's was 35C after an hour of running benchmarks.

27 idle, 41 C under load. Mine are tucked in the 2.5" holder on the wall of a 846 and get no air flow.
