I need some advice/feedback for a processor I am looking at for my first home server. I am looking at e3-12xx v3 for a home server that will have a few virtual servers running on it. I am thinking of running the following on within its own virtual server. Each will be running Linux.
Media center, streaming to 2 or 3 devices. maybe plex, no 4k, but Blu-ray rips. Not sure if I need transcoding
File server
Automated backups for devices on my home network
Torrent
Minecraft server for my daughter
1 or 2 misc virtual servers for playing with.
In the future I may use the server as a router and possibly use it as a dvr recording device.
Now here is my concern, the e3-12xx v3 caps at 32 gb RAM. Will this become an issue or am I worried about nothing?
Any advice, feedback, alternatives, and comments will be greatly appreciated!
