I kept delaying to get one for ages but time to pull trigger.
I'd like to poweron/off, get some reliable power consumption metrics and.. thats all.
Whatever i had at work was... either too expensive and 400V...

Any advices about inexpensive PDU's ?

I've been running several Lantronix Securelinx SLP8s for many years. they're rocks. Never had a problem with any of them. Most I picked up cheap by being constantly on the lookout and waiting patiently for deals to come along.

There's a lot of good ones around, but since you want network monitoring and individual power, they are all expensive if you buy new ($400-500 to start).

I've been investigating some for work, and have been shocked to find that you can get perfectly functional used ones from eBay below $200. I'm not saying this is the best unit ever, but Tripp Lite is reasonable gear, and you can't go wrong for $120. If you are looking for 20A or 3-phase, those can be had for even better deals compared to new.

Yeah as @nabsltd used is the way to go- bonus if you look locally. I see people trying to sell APC PDUs all the time locally at wildly different price ranges. Sometimes sub $50 per PDU. Just have to look.

You should mention what kind of input/output you are looking for. For example there are hardy any PDUs that meet your criteria rated at 15A.

You can get Raritan PX3 PDUs on Ebay from $100 ~ $300, all it takes is patience. The raritan PDUs are some of the finest - modern API and UI, firmware that is updated regularly and the latest firmware has a Prometheus compatible HTTP endpoint, makes it trivial to graph metrics

I got a PX3-5147 for $150 and a PX3-5407 for $300

Keep watching eBay and the Great Deals thread ...

I purchased an identical model for $70 but had to shell out extra for a modern network card (WEBCARDLX AC8ACD). The older network card is pretty useless - telnet only, the newer one can use a HTML5 UI instead of a Java based one but it did cost $75. All in all, prefer the Raritans :)

These Raritans looks indeed tempting but to hunt one in 230V flavor i'm interested in seems to be difficult.

True. 230V input
IEC60320 C13 inlets preferably at rear side of PDU to avoid cable or additional brush panel to route them nicely to the back of rack. But that's not mandatory.

Was this an eBay "wait for a deal" or did you find it for $75 somewhere else?

The former. I even posted about it here, purchased three from the seller. All three turned out to be working just fine.

Are you looking for single phase 230v ? or 3 phase? 2 wire? 3 wire?

I saw that one and identified it as the version you quoted.

I just got a Tripp Lite auto-transfer switch with a network card, and I'll pull it to check the model number.
If it looks like this

It's the older version

Sadly, it does.

But I got the unit for $115 including shipping and didn't really care about the network capability...it was just the cheapest ATS I had seen. Even at $150 for a new network card, I'm far below the $450+ retail for a new unit.
