I was comparing my systems with 1-socket E5-2667 v4 and E5-1660 v4 Xeons and noticed that although the two CPU's nearly identical on paper, the E5-1660 v4 will run slightly higher speeds on single threads. I had to figure out why and realized that the E5-1660v4 (all the E5-1600 v4 series) enables TurboMax 3.0 to boost the "preferred core" while the 2S capable Xeon 2600 v4 don't offer this.
Not much of a big deal, but I noticed some consistently higher single thread benchmarks on the 1660 v4 system, despite being identical to the system with the 2667 v4.
